KK FOOD FESTIVAL AT THE SILK GARDEN
It's not everyday I get a call from mysterious strangers...especially one that invites me to lunch. Unfortunately it wasn't a handsome man inviting me to a date but fortunately, it was Ms Lim from the Pacific Sutera Harbour Resort inviting me to a food review event at the Silk Garden Chinese Restaurant.!
I had no idea there was a Chinese restaurant at the resort so I was quite curious as to where this place was. Little did I know that this beauty was positioned on the harbour side with a beautiful view of the water and boats!
Silk Garden is currently holding a special KK Food Fest menu for RM50++ per person for a 4-course meal. Check it out!
Lucky for us foodies we got to try some "extra" dishes prepared by the chef which included the restaurant's signature deep fried chicken, steamed fish and fried noodles. YUM!
I could tell a lot of thought had been put into these dishes: taste, presentation and each dish had some sort of a delicate feel to it. This included the deep-fried chicken which tasted n superb and had a very fluffy texture to it without having oil dripping from each bite (only great when you're eating in the comfort of your own home). The pairing of the prawn and mango was a safe combination but I was quite impressed with the presentation of the upright prawn. The pear soup was surprisingly tasty as I'm not big on soupy desserts. The clear soup just light enough and complimented the prior dishes as it did not overpower the flavours of the other dishes.
Overall, Silk Garden is a pretty gorgeous restaurant for lunch as you can stare at the harbour while you eat. If you've never been to the place perhaps the KK Food Fest is a good way for you to taste test before you splurge on a full banquet. But be quick as this is a KK Food Fest special which ends on Sunday!
Till next post!
P.S. I know cake and baking posts have been a bit scarce lately but don't worry! The oven HAS been busy. I will put together a cake post soon :)
